JYJ’s Jaejoong recently sat down for an exclusive interview with MyDaily and revealed his inner thoughts about not being able to perform on weekly music shows.

Jaejoong was first asked, “You haven’t been able to perform on music shows for a long time. What does it feel like to see other artists appear on them?”

“So they are appearing?” he said, with a short pause. “Yes, I do want to appear (on those shows).

When I talk to other younger artists, it feels like JYJ has somehow become this weird creature. It’s almost like we’ve become strange to them.

Since they can’t see us on TV that often, they find it awkward to meet us in real life. I heard when JYJ releases an album or a new song, they download and listen to it first,” he added.

Jaejoong went on to list the artists he’s been keeping an eye on lately. “Our manager really likes SISTAR, so I’ve been listening to them a lot. I like their songs. From the boy groups, I like BEAST’s new song. I also saw their ‘Inkigayo’ stage.”

At the end of the interview, Jaejoong hinted at the possibility of coming back with a new album by the first half of next year. We hope by then JYJ will solve their issues and get back on music show stages!

JYJ’s Kim Junsu was chosen as the idol with the strongest ticket power for three years in a row.

The August 8 broadcast of OBS’ Unique Entertainment News lined up idols from no. 1 to 5 under the theme, ‘2012’s powerful musical idols’. The rank showed, in order, JYJ’s Kim Junsu for Elisabeth, Super Junior’s Sungmin for Jack the Ripper, B2ST’s Jang Hyun Seung for Mozart!, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun for Catch Me If You Can and 2AM’s Chang Min for La Cage Aux Folles as the idols that sold the most tickets for their musicals.

Kim Junsu, shining proud at no. 1, won two rookie awards with his musical debut in 2009.

His debut piece Mozart! sold out the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, and his second piece Tears of Heaven also sold out 17 performances out of its total of 20.

For his third piece, Elisabeth, in which he acted as the otherworldly character Tod, all 32 of the performances were sold out just 10 minutes after their tickets were made available for sale.

In the meantime, with every performance, he grew little by little as his own brand, recognized for his acting and explosive vocals.

He also won the Most Popular Star Award three years in a row at the 6th Musical Awards held in June.

Although JYJ’s Jaejoong has already been a singer in the entertainment industry for nine years, he is still relatively new to the world of acting. In fact, his most recent drama, “Dr. Jin,” is only his second drama project and first historical drama. However, despite having not had much experience with acting, Jaejoong still impressed viewers with his outstanding portrayal of his complex character in “Dr. Jin.”

As a result, because of his impressive acting, Jaejoong has become a favorite in winning the newcomer award at the MBC drama awards ceremony later this year. When asked to share his thoughts on possibly winning the award, he said, “Well, if I win the award, I will feel really honored, but if I don’t win the award, I will still continue to work hard at acting. But I still want to receive the award if possible because an actor only has one shot at winning a newcomer award in his entire career.”

Jaejoong was also asked what he would do if he wins the award, to which he answered, “If I win, I will donate money to help renovate the subway stations near my fans’ homes! Actually, I’m just joking. But seriously, if I receive the award, I will stand up on stage, raise my hands, do the victory sign, and shout ‘Thank you!’”

With viewers already recognizing his acting skills in “Dr. Jin,” Jaejoong may have a good chance of receiving the newcomer award, and if he does, fans may look forward to a cute victory pose from the oustanding singer and actor.
