As previously reported, JYJ will be kicking off its first-ever ‘JYJ Membership Week’, a large-scale exposition for its JYJ fan club members on June 28 for four days at Seoul’s EC.

For the event, some 7,024 JYJ fan members from Japan are expected to set foot on June 28 alone, a record for any Korean celebrity.

According to estimates from the Korea Tourism Organization, the expected economic boost from the visiting fans in lodging, shopping, eating and other activities is over 10 billion won to Korea, proving JYJ′s economic power.

Regarding the staggering estimate, JYJ’s C-Jes Entertainment said, “This is the largest event for a hallyu event yet. We believe a new record will be set in Korea’s tourism industry.”

Artwork featuring popular K-pop stars will soon become available for the public to see!

Starting June 23rd until August 19th, the Engagement Company, headed by Park Jae Shin, will hold its first art exhibit, titled ’2012 K-pop Star Entertain Art Show’, in the Korean International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) located in Ilsan. The art show will aim to attract both domestic and foreign Hallyu fans with its K-pop inspired paintings.

The artists have attempted to paint realistic, photo-like images of the K-pop stars using the “trompe-l’oeil technique”, a French technique that involves creating an optical illusion so that 2D images appear to be 3D ones. The application of such techniques can be seen in both the 2PM and Son Dam Bi examples provided. The K-pop artists depicted seem to be coming out of the pictures rather than remaining confined within the frames.

There will be three different sections within the art show, including a star zone, a themed zone, and a special zone. The star zone will feature the portraits of 19 artists, including TVXQ, Super Junior, Wonder Girls, f(x), KARA, CNBLUE, B2ST, Baek Ji Young, Im Jae bum, Yoon Do Hyun, Kim Jang Hoon, Huh Gak, and more across a total of 110 pieces. The Engagement Company has made sure to gain permission via signed contracts from the entertainment labels to use each celebrity’s image for the art show.

The special zone will feature pop artists like Mary Kim, Charles Jang, Artnom, and The Jack, who will be presenting K-pop star related pop art projects through this special showcase.

Representatives of the art show commented, “We will provide a special kind of entertainment bordering between reality and illusion for the Korean fans as well as international fans of Hallyu.”

Tickets to the show can be booked in advance at the Interpark website.

Yoochun is becoming a topic of hot interest in Asia not just as the handsome JYJ member, but as a charming actor.

Recently concluded SBS drama ‘Rooftop Prince‘ has become wildly popular in countries overseas, especially in neighboring China.

Not long after the drama series was launched in Korea, a fan site for ‘Rooftop Prince’ was created on a major Chinese portal site Baidu, and has now nearly 60,000 registered members.

Furthermore, Yoochun’s personal fan site on Baidu has over 80,000 registered members, and special events were held in 4 major Chinese cities Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chongqing for Yoochun’s past birthday further proving his immense popularity.

‘Rooftop Prince’ related videos on Chinese video hosting service Youku received a total of over 77 million hits, and were voted an average of 9.4 out of 10 by viewers. Furthermore, more than 110,000 comments were left by fans and the series is currently the most popular Korean drama in China. There are actors whose gaze alone can move the hearts of viewers. There are actors who play villains one can’t hate and keeps taking the attention of viewers like a ‘wounded finger’.

Kim Jae Joong from Time Slip Dr. Jin is one such case.

In the drama, Kim Jae Joong plays a character with extraordinary martial arts skills and excels in his education but suffers indignation at the fact he is the offspring of a concubine.

Even calling his father, ‘His Exalted Sir’, is not enough for Kim Jae Joong’s character who bears the disregarding and even physical beating of Lee Bok Hyung and even carries out every order of his father, even the bad ones, at the fear of being cast away.

In addition, the woman he has yearned after since he was young, Young Lae (Park Min Young), is seemingly close to being stolen away by Jin Hyuk leading to Kim Jae Joong masking his pain and coming off even stronger.

“The heavens haven’t been in my favor since a very long time ago."

Kim Kyung Tak′s words show just how much pain he carries from his past, how unconditional his loyalty to his father is and how much he pines after Young Lae. Kim Kyung Tak’s wrongdoings are actions done to try and earn the heart of someone and not done out of true malice. This is why there is sorrow seen in the eyes of Kim Kyung Tak even when he holds a sword to Jin Hyuk’s neck and sets fire to the Tomak Village.

Kim Jae Joong has become 100 percent in synch with Kim Kyung Tak and is receiving praise for his acting, especially with his eyes and expressions which conveys the hidden sadness behind his character.

Though he hasn’t received the heart of Young Lae right away, the love he has for her from this noble and masculine individual is moving the hearts of many in their living rooms.

Netizens have expressed their sympathy for him as well saying, “Why isn’t anyone on Kyung Tak’s side?”, “His pain is clearly evident” and “And somebody please send Kyung Tak on a time slip to the 21st century.”
