JYJ’s Park Yoochun is impressed by fellow member Kim Junsu’s solo album activities.
Park Yoochun, who met with journalists on 31 May, said, “If Junsu were born in America, he would surely cook up a storm. ‘Asia’s Number 1′ suits him perfectly.”
Kim Junsu recently released his solo album “XIA-Tarantallegra”, and is holding an Asia Tour which began in Seoul. Park Yoochun said, “I was not able to go watch Junsu’s concert due to the filming for ‘Rooftop Prince’. If my schedules permit, I may go and watch Junsu’s concert overseas in the near future.”
With regard to Kim Junsu releasing a solo album, the JYJ members are full of praise. Park Yoochun revealed, “I feel that it is a pity that I was not able to show everyone the side of me making music through my individual activities. I was also not able to freely express myself through music. So when news came out of Junsu’s solo album, I told him, ‘Hurry up and prepare and release it.’.”
Park Yoochun showed strong faith in Junsu when he went on to say, “Just seeing Junsu’s solo album can relieve thirst. I had the confidence and a sense of anticipation that he would work hard to produce something that was very different from the other current groups.” At the same time, Park Yoochun also laughed and said, “It seems that there is nothing that he does not dare to do, so it seems JYJ will shine brighter.”
So does Park Yoochun himself have plans to release a solo album? He said, ” Ever since the time I was in TVXQ, at SM Entertainment, I had thoughts of releasing a solo album at least once. I want to try producing an album of a style like that of 015B and senior Yoo Jae Ha, an album with songs that tell a story. If an opportunity arises, I want to try it at least once.”
“First, I must determine the furthest I can go. Then I need to make my choices and fulfill them one by one.”
Park Yoochun, who solidified his position as an actor through the SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama “Rooftop Prince”, has been attracting attention in the CF market for being the new “blue chip” of the advertising industry.
Recently, male models Lee Seung Gi and Kim Soo Hyun, and female models Kim Yuna and Jeon Ji Hyun have been receiving much attention, but Park Yoochun is a fast-rising, powerful darkhorse.
Park Yoochun is currently active mainly as the CF model for Dongsuh Food’s ice tea TiO, Ottogi’s Gismyun, Nintendo and Black Smith, among others. Including the headache medication advertisement filmed together with the other JYJ members, Park Yoochun can often be seen in television commercials.
The reason why Park Yoochun is appearing in this many advertisements is because of the outstanding advertising effectiveness (he brings).
For instance, with Gismyun, sales broke 20,000,000 (packets) in 80 days, and following the Korean wave, the “Park Yoochun Effect” was also evident overseas. Gismyun, which was exported to Japan, New Zealand, China, Russia, Southeast Asia and other regions, ranked 3rd in sales in the food section of Japan’s Gmarket, causing Ottogi’s representatives to say, “Aside from instant noodle lovers, Park Yoochun fans locally and overseas have also shown their interest (in the product).”
The advertisement which can be seen most often recently is TiO ice tea. TiO is a latecomer compared to brands such as Nestea and Lipton, but since Park Yoochun became the CF model, there as been a record increase in sales.
Thus, Park Yoochun’s value in the advertising industry has long been recognised, and by winning over women’s hearts with the drama “Rooftop Prince” this time, it has brought his “net worth” up another level. In particular, advertisers feel that Park Yoochun’s gentle and warm image, is one of the main factors which makes him a reliable spokesperson in the eyes of the consumers, and are all presently keen to “capture Park Yoochun”.
An advertising agency representative stated, “Park Yoochun has formed a polite and dandy image with the viewers through his drama productions in this period of time. In addition, his good looks and friendly disposition are appealing to the advertisers.” He also went into detail by saying, “He has an active fanbase, which directly affects the increase in sales of products, so the love which advertisers have for Park Yoochun is likely to continue.”
A representative of Park Yoochun’s management agency, C-Jes Entertainment stated, “Every time a production ends, the invitations for Park Yoochun to participate in a new CF are numerous. He devotes himself greatly to (taking on) each role in each production, and is hence able to show the viewers a new image each time.”
He then went on to say, “Also, because Park Yoochun seems very warm, it is much easier for the viewers to relate to him, and hence the (advertising) effectiveness is more outstanding than other spokespersons. In particular, ‘love calls’ for Park Yoochun have been coming from all industries, regardless of the type of product, or the age group or gender of the target audience.
Meanwhile, Park Yoochun is taking a break, while deliberating between movies, dramas, plays, and other fproductions. He will make a decision within this month, and is expected to appear before audiences before the end of this year.
JYJ’s Junsu conveyed his thoughts on winning the popularity award at “The Musical Awards” 3 years in a row.
After the receiving the award, Junsu revealed, “As it is an award given to me by the viewers, I think that that makes it an important award, and one that I am very grateful for. I really appreciate it.” About not winning Best Male Lead, he expressed his thoughts via Twitter, “Thank you from my heart for the popularity award. I am also truly thankful to, in these short 3 years, be nominated 2 years consecutively (for the Best Male Lead award) alongside the best actors.”
His management agency, C-Jes Entertainment, said, “He swept the newcomer awards in the first year following his debut (as a musical actor). We think that it is his passion and seriousness towards the stage as a musical actor that has allowed him to be nominated for the Best Male Lead award 2 years in a row. We would like to thank the audience for his third consecutive Popular Star Award. Please continue to give your interest and support to Junsu’s, who loves musicals, activities from now on.”

Park Yoochun ended his character as Lee Gak who time-travelled from Joseon Dynasty to modern day Seoul in SBS drama ‘Rooftop Prince’ on the 24th May, after displaying his excellent acting.
On the 30th May in a restaurant at Yeoiudo, Park Yoochun had his interview with our reporter, and talked about Kim Jaejoong who is currently acting in MBC’s weekend drama ‘Dr Jin’ and Kim Junsu who just released his new solo album ‘XIA-Tarantallegra’, cheering up the both of them.
Park Yoochun expressed, “When Junsu said that he is going to release an album, I said, ‘It has to be released no matter what. It is such a good chance.’ His singing skills has been honed through the previous appearances in musicals thus I believed that he can do well for his album.”
“On the day of the release of his MV, I watched it late night and had a shock. So handsome, so unique. I had a proud feeling of ‘As expected of a JYJ member’.”
He also talked about Kim Jaejoong who is challenging historical drama for the first time in ‘Dr Jin’. Recently, there are comments on similarity of Jaejoong’s ancient accent in ‘Dr Jin’ and Park Yoochun’s accent in ‘Sungkyungkwan Scandal’ and ‘Rooftop Prince’.
To this, Park Yoochun explained, “I have yet to watch ‘Dr Jin’ but I didn’t especially gave him any specific acting skills or experiences. Every actor has his own values. I felt that one have to portray it with own’s uniqueness through own experiences and that’s what a true actor should do.”
“All I can pass to him are technical experiences like getting good camera angles, lighting angles etc. But even if I didn’t tell these to him, the filming director will tell him too. Thus there’s no necessity to pass any experiences.”
Lastly Park Yoochun said, “Due to constraint in activities and thus we can’t have any singer activities, I am very glad that we are able to stand firm on a television screen. Hopefully our singer-activities ban can be lifted.”
MBC‘s ‘Come to Play‘ has been receiving the attention of viewers for cutting out a segment that mentioned JYJ‘s Yoochun.
The June 4th episode featured Park Bo Young, Kim Yoo Jung, Seo Shin Ae, Kim So Hyun and more. Prior to the episode’s broadcast, MBC had sent out a press release stating that Kim So Hyun had received the envy of everyone for her friendship with Yoochun.
In the actual broadcast, however, the segment had been cut out, leading Kim So Hyun to write on her Twitter, “What is this? Why was Yoochun oppa mentions all cut out? I wanted to share fun stories about Yoochun oppa… The last of my birthday today is
She continued by revealing the story herself, writing, “When I first saw Yoochun oppa, he was walking out of the waiting room in a white wife beater and red track pants while scratching his stomach. Huk! I was frozen in place. I had discovered my ideal type. Even him being like that was cool. The inner story of ‘Come to Play’.”
Recently, MBC‘s talk program ‘Come to Play‘ came under fire for cutting out a segment that mentioned JYJ‘s Yoochun.
The issue started when one of the guests, Kim So Hyun, posted her feelings about the broadcast on Twitter: “What is this? Why were Yoochun oppa’s parts all cut out?”
The viewers were left even more confused as the press release for the episode, released prior to broadcast, had indicated that Yoochun’s stories would indeed be featured on the episode. However, when it was actually aired, no mention of the JYJ member took place.
In a response to the questions and rumors surrounding the editing, the producers of ‘Come to Play’ released a clarification, saying, “There wasn’t a particular reason such as outside pressure. Since there were six guests with several different stories, a few of them were edited out.”
“There wasn’t much material concerning Park Yoochun during the taping,” they continued. “The talk was left out due to filming and editing issues. It is our mistake that it was included in the press release but wasn’t broadcast.”
Park Yoo Chun celebrated his 26th birthday on the beautiful islands of Bali.
On May 4, Park Yoo Chun posted a series of pictures on his twitter, sharing his whereabouts after successfully completing the SBS drama Rooftop Prince.
He tweeted, “This is summer” and “Lots of tiger balm.”
In the three photos he posted, Park Yoo Chun sported a short hair style and comfortable clothes (or none), while enjoying the warm weather.
When asked about his new haircut, Park Yoo Chun replied, “I was bored~ ^^ so I cut it. I was going to shave it all off but I held back. Needed a change. Was feeling bummed.”
Kim Jun Su tweeted Park Yoo Chun and asked when he would return from Bali, to which Park Yoo Chun replied, “That’s a secret.”

“Timeslip Dr. Jin’s” Jaejoong is monopolising the interest of his senior co-actors at the filming site.
In MBC’s “Timeslip Dr. Jin”, Jaejoong plays the role of an official at the constable office, and the illegitimate son of the vice-premier Kim Byung Hee (played by Kim Eung Soo). Although he is skilled in martial arts and is talented, he receives verbal abuse from his father and the other nobles due to his low social status. In the third episode, there was a scene where he was kicked by his half-brother, Kim Dae Gyun (played by Kim Myung Soo).
However, the scene at the filming site is opposite from what is seen in the drama, as Jaejoong receives much love. Kim Eung Soo, who plays the role of his father addresses Jaejoong as “my son” or “youngest child”. On the other hand, Kim Myung Soo, who playes his brother, was seen rushing up and hugging Jaejoong after the kick scene ended saying, “Jaejoong is in pain. What should we do?”, showing much affection.
Program officials revealed, “Jaejoong always arrives the earliest at the filming site to prepare. It is impressive how he always gives his best, and the other actors all feel very affectionate towards Jaejoong. Unlike what is seen in the drama, at the filming site, they (affectionatey) call him “our Jaejoong”.”
Representatives from Jaejoong’s management agency also showed their anticipation, “It seems that cohesiveness has already formed among the cast. The valley scene which appeared in episode 3 was filmed at a location which required them to go down 250 to 300 steps. As no one was keen to come back again, the cast became close as they waited together while filming throughout the entire day. The atmosphere at the filming site is very good, (we can look forward to) them coming together to show the audience good acting as well this time.”

JYJ’s Yoochun shared his honest feelings about sasaeng fans in a recent interview with TV Report. The singer/actor that successfully wrapped up his latest drama, “Rooftop Prince,” started off by saying, “Sasaengs are one part of the fans, but it’s hard to understand them anymore.”
“I was able to get to this point because of the fans that supported me for such a long time, with the heart of a mom. Obviously, there have been other types of fans, too. To be honest with you, I don’t think they (sasaengs) are true fans. I’ve tried to understand and accept them as part of the fandom, but it’s been like that for eight years already. Now it’s just too hard to understand them. People tell me it’s part of being a celebrity, and that might be right. But it’s not as easy as you think,” he said.
“But in order to return the love to all the fans that have always supported me, I’m going to do my best to come up with good music, good acting, and a hardworking attitude. Also, I would like to say thank you for always showing love to me,” he added.
Meanwhile, Yoochun’s latest TV drama “Rooftop Prince” aired its finale on May 24, with the best TV ratings among other competitors. He played the dual role of Lee Gak and Yong Tae Yong for the time traveling fantasy drama, creating good chemistry with his female counterpart, Han Ji Min.
■ SBS Drama “Rooftop Prince” Park Yoochun
One person playing 2 roles, “awkwardly” using modern speech. His analysis of his role has improved rapidly and he wants to challenge the role of a mental patient.
Through this drama “Rooftop Prince”, he has gained a lot. He has truly felt the enjoyment in acting, and it is also a comforting project helping him through difficult times.
Park Yoochun, who plays a dual role of Joseon prince Lee Gak and modern day chaebol Yong Tae Yong in the SBS drama “Rooftop Prince,” talks about the story behind the drama in a refreshed manner after the drama ended.
“I was very nervous when shooting first started, and I’m really happy that we made it to episode 20 without any broadcast issues. Especially since I invested even more feelings into this drama than I ever did, and this was a drama whose script had touched me, so it feels great to have ended it smoothly.”
If you say that he did not know anything when he first started acting in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” then this is a drama that allowed him to truly understand the joys of acting. With a tight filming schedule, just being able to make each broadcast was a miracle, but the synergy between the actors were better than ever. Even the adlibs that came naturally were accepted into the drama, and having your own ideas blended in made acting even easier.
“In the previous project, the burden from ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ was really great, and it was hard to bear and I even thought about giving up. It was thanks to the people around me that I managed to get through it. For this drama, instead of thinking “I need to do better,” I firstly cleared my emotions, and relaxed so that I could focus on acting without burden.”
There are many aspects of this drama that allows him to prove his true value. To Lee Gak, who uses modern speech in a clumsy manner, speaking English is unimaginably difficult. As he is not used to the words, he pronounces “omurice”(omeuraiseu) as “omooraisoo” and “Ice Bar”(aiseuba) as “aisooba”. His self-created language appears at the later part of the script as well.
Also, he used a pair of spectacles to differentiate between the roles of “Yong Tae Yong” and “Lee Gak.” When wearing glasses, he is Yong Tae Yong and after removing them he is Lee Gak. But in front of Park Ha whom he loves dearly, Yong Tae Yong does not wear glasses as well, as it is Lee Gak himself who wants to get closer to Park Ha.
The person who Park Ha meets has been the source of much discussion, but he says that it is “100% Yong Tae Yong.” In the original script, he shows signs of not being able to recognise Park Ha, but he feels that instead of trying to convey two separate roles, he may be Yong Tae Yong but subtly expresses hints of Lee Gak in his acting as he gazes at Park Ha.
In the kiss scene with Park Ha just before the teary confession, the tears he shed were not purely due to feelings of love. This confession to Park Ha bears the meaning of giving up on Joseon, giving up on the duty of returning to Joseon with his “Rooftop 3-man gang”, and this kind of sadness led to a natural shedding of tears.
“If the way that I thought that I should act is in sync with how the viewers feel, then I am satisfied with this kind of understanding. During then, I felt a great sense of joy.”
Now that he knows “the joys of acting,” there are many other roles that he wants to play. He even wants to try playing the role of a mental patient, a murderer or a criminal. Without the help of make-up, lighting and camera angles, he wants to challenge a role that can drive the whole show with just his acting abilities.
“In the future, I want to try a larger variety of roles. If among those, there are medical dramas, I would like in those as well. As Yong Tae Yong I had to shoot scenes at the hospital, and just (the scenes of) lying in the ward took over 6 hours to film, and I felt for myself how hard it is to film a medical drama. If I can, I would like to try acting in one, haha”
I am ready to be a “DdalBabo” (T/N: A “DdalBabo” is the abbreviation for DDALman BAra BOda,” which is a parent who only has eyes for his/her daughter)
After meeting child actress Kim So Hyun, who appeared in the drama with him, he thought, “how great would it be to have a sister like that. I must have a daughter like her.”
When he grew up, his wish was to have a “sister.” In fact, his mother had even considered adoption before.
“I’m really too busy, and my mom seems lonely. Actually, she thought hard about it for about 2 years. Looking at children that have been hurt, I supported the idea of adoption because I had similar experiences, but the reason why we didn’t do it was because we were worried that we would be irresponsible. Because I’m too busy, and my occupation and position is not one that allows me to give a lot of love to one person. We did not want to hurt the child further, so we gave up. If I get married, I really want to have a daughter.”

Park Yoochun (26) came to the Joongang Ilbo Building in Sunhwa-dong, Seoul for a photoshoot. The female staff, who are usually unmoved by most celebrities gathered together and started cheering.
That’s right, because Park Yoochun is an “idol”! He is a seasoned singer of 9 years since debut, and even if he appears in a red tracksuit and playing a comedic role in a drama, he is still an item of envy, a person who continues to draw the attention of the masses, a “natural-born idol.”
On 29 May, this reporter met the awe-inspiring Park Yoochun who transcended the modern and olden times in the SBS drama “Rooftop Prince” which ended on 24 May as the top rated drama for its Wednesday-Thursday timeslot.
# The Time-Travelling Crown Prince
Park Yoochun plays a double role in “Rooftop Prince,” as the Joseon crown prince Lee Gak and Second generation Chaebol Yong Tae Yong. Lee Gak, who comes to the future due to a time slip, has to reply in olden terms, even if all other actors speak to him in modern terms.
It was largely due to Park Yoochun’s natural acting, that allowed the audiences to accept the ludicrous story scenario without much burden. When asked if it was difficult to act in a time-slip drama, he said, “After reading the script, I could really feel writer Lee Hui Myung’s desire to see his wife again (This writer stopped writing for 6 years after the passing of his wife, and made his comeback with ‘Rooftop Prince’), so it was easy to get into character.”
He said, “As I was acting, I suddenly felt very heartbroken. To have to leave Park Ha (played by Han Jimin) whom I love so dearly and return to Joseon, I felt helpless. This is because a love that has transcended 300 years is deeper and purer than that of modern things.
To the free-spirited Park Yoochun, “Rooftop Prince” is also a very meaningful project. This is because during its shoot in March, his father had passed away. When asked when he would go to if he could travel through time, he said, “to the times that I spent with my father in America.”
Due to family troubles when he was in middle school he had migrated to America and worked with his father in a construction company. “It was a really difficult period, but thinking back now, I actually miss those times. I wanted to have better memories (of him)… but that period will probably stay in my heart forever.”
# From Singer Micky Yoochun To Actor Park Yoochun
Park Yoochun, who made his debut with TVXQ and broke away as a JYJ member, made his acting debut in 2010 with “Sungkyunkwan Scandal.” He worked on both period and modern dramas, and has earned the accolade of being “The idol-turned-actor with the best acting skills.” He said, “’Rooftop Prince’ was the first drama in which I threw away the burden of thinking ‘I have to do better’ while acting.”
“Even without forcing the emotions, even if I don’t feel like crying, I can still act in a natural manner. I have a scar on the left side of my face, and I had thought about covering it up with make-up, but now I want to be an actor that can show that scar naturally.”
He also said that if he has the chance, he will want to practice his enunciation while acting, or try acting in plays. This is because he has not had formal acting training aside from going to acting school for 3 months before shooting “Sungkyunkwan Scandal.” Park Yoochun, who is already a hallyu star also intends to continue singing.
“After watching (JYJ member) Junsu’s solo concert, I feel that I could never that well (Laughs). I want to write songs and lyrics, as well as produce my own album.”

On June 4th, JYJ‘s Yoochun was interviewed at a restaraunt in Kangnam, in which he shockingly revealed, “I really love daughters. My mother and I seriously considered adopting a younger sister.”
During the start of the interview, Yoochun could not conceal his excitement at the mention of Kim So Hyun, the child actress who played the young Sena on SBS‘s ‘Rooftop Prince‘. Yoochun stated, “She is so cute. I want a younger sister or daughter like her. I really do love daughters.”
Fans were very curious as to how Yoochun and So Hyun have such a close relationship, in which they hold numerous conversations over Twitter, even though they have never had a scene together in ‘Rooftop Prince’. To this, Yoochun explained, “There were many times when our waiting rooms were close by or times when we shared the same waiting room. Therefore, So Hyun and I saw each other a lot . I spent a lot of time with So Hyun because the waiting time [for 'Rooftop Prince'] was long. So Hyun would come find me first and bring me food to eat and ask to take pictures together. It was really cute”.
Furthermore, Yoochun revealed his past consideration of adopting a younger sister and stated, ”Whenever I went to welfare buildings or shelters for children to volunteer or make a donation, I was heartbroken when I saw the children. I also have memories of when I went through a difficult period because I lived away from my family, but I feel like those children must be having a much more difficult time. I wanted to give someone as much love as I can, which is why I considered adoption for the past two years. It was a serious dilemma for me.”
The interviewer stated that Yoochun’s smiling face turned serious in an instant when he discussed the reason for not following through with the adoption. Yoochun stated, “I felt that a celebrity is a profession in which you cannot give all your love to one person. I gave up the decision to adopt because I felt like it would be an irresponsible act.”
Subsequently after discussing the topic of marriage with Yoochun, the interviewer wrote, “He is giving much thought about marriage, which is why I think he said that he will publicly reveal his relationship if he starts to date this time. With dating and marriage in mind, Yoochun wants to meet her in a sincere manner. He doesn’t have a concrete plan set for marriage, but his face brightened as soon as he began to fantasize about having a daughter.”
Yoochun said, “I really love daughters. I fantasize about having a loving family. When I marry I think I will be able to have a daughter like So Hyun. At the minimum, I think there is a 70% chance that I will have a pretty daughter. If she’s my daughter, she’ll definitely be pretty,” causing himself to laugh.
Park Yoochun (27) is an “addict creation machine”. Making his acting debut in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” in 2010, he created the “Sungkyunkwan addict” and with his recent participation in the SBS drama “Rooftop Prince” he played the role of Lee Gak, and created the “Rooftop addict”. “Rooftop Prince” is a story about the fictitious crown prince Lee Gak from the Joseon dynasty, who loses his crown princess, and his episodes after he travels 300 years into the modern day. The show ended its run on 24 May, with the last episode recording ratings of 14.8%, the number 1 show in its time slot (AGB Neilsen)
“Owning nothing, and having nothing you cannot own, this is a kind of charm as well. He is the type that is able to read people well.”
Meeting Park Yoochun on 3 June, he said, “Starting from middle school, probably because I met a lot of people while doing part time jobs, I get some kind of feeling once a meet a person (no matter who it is). “ As for his time in America where he had attended middle school, “To make a living, I took on part time jobs with my father. I only attended school about once a month, and spent most of my time at my workplace.” As for what kind of work this was, he did not talk much about it.
His father, who had gone through the difficult times of taking on part time jobs with him, had passed away due to illness during the shooting of his drama’s first and second episodes. “If I could see him off with good memories, it would have been great, but I could not do so.” Even without enough sleep, pushing on just by eating kimbap, bread and hamburgers, and while travelling in his car, he thought of his father and tears started to flow. “I returned to the shooting location after taking off the mourning robes, and one of the staff asked me ‘Have you eaten?’. These words brought me a lot of comfort… (I though) so this is what living is, not just myself, but living and going through things with others as well, and such thoughts brought me out (of my sadness).”
Perhaps it is because turning points are a key aspect of life, with this drama, he has been praised for attaining a new level of maturity in his acting. The director, Shin Yoon Seob PD had praises for him as well, saying “He has the natural ability to make the character his own” The scene where he wears a doll costume and dances around madly, and when Lee Gak’s reincarnation Yong Tae Yong smiles meaningfully at the female lead Park Ha with a hint of recognition, these are all unscripted yet acted out perfectly by Park Yoochun.
Previously part of idol group TVXQ, and now active as a member of JYJ, people think of actor “Park Yoochun” more than singer “Micky Yoochun” and a co-star said, “I cannot imagine Yoochun singing and dancing.” Last year, this publication invited experts to rate the abilities of idol turned actors, and after Big Bang’s, he was recognised having the most potential in developing as an actor.
“When appearing in the second piece “Miss Ripley” (MBC, 2011), there was such a great pressure in terms of acting initially that I even wanted to give up. But now I can think ‘I’ll just do it like this,’ and perform.
To study acting better, hes thought of doing plays as well. After shooting 2 CFs, he is headed to Bali, Indonesia for a photoshoot, on his future roles, he said, “I want to try playing the role of a serial killer or mental patient, not just the (role of) chaebol”
Park Yoo Chun said he dreams of walking the red carpet of Cannes with his brother Park Yoo Hwan in a recent interview with enews.
To a question asking whether he has anything he dreams of doing, he answered, “I want to go to the Cannes Film Festival with [Park] Yoo Hwan. This is my next goal for now.”
The two have already walked red carpets in Korea together for the 2011 MBC Drama Awards held on December 30, 2011 and the Paeksang Arts Awards held in April 2012.
Park Yoo Chun said, “Even if it’s for different pieces, if we get a chance to go I hope we’ll get to stand on the red carpet of Cannes together. We went together for the Paeksang Arts Awards, and that felt great. I was so proud that we brothers were sitting at the same table. I hope we can take a lot of pictures at Cannes.”
He then added, “Yoo Hwan is better at English than I am. I think I’ll be able to use my brother as an interpreter. (Laugh)”
Park Yoo Chun recently gathered much popularity for his Crown Prince Lee Gak role in SBS’ Rooftop Prince.
Singer-turned-actor Park Yoo Chun had high praise for his partner Han Ji Min after teaming up with her for their recent drama Rooftop Prince, saying that it was like he was given a great present when he got to meet the actress.
In a recent interview with enews, Park Yoo Chun showed his great satisfaction and thanks toward his ‘lover’ Han Ji Min of Rooftop Prince. He also showed he was very close to her, calling her ‘Ji Min nuna (big sister)’ throughout the entire interview.
Park Yoo Chun said, “When we first came in for a test shoot, Ji Min nuna was exhausted because it hadn’t been long since she had wrapped up her previous piece. Thankfully, we were to shoot together with the three subjects, so our first shoot wasn’t too awkward.”
He then added, “That’s how we first met, and because Ji Min nuna has a laid back personality that would make anyone comfortable, we later became so close that she asked me, ‘You feel really comfortable around me, don’t you?’ Acting together with such a relationship let us build great teamwork which helped us put together scenes easily with just one or two tries.”
“Ji Min nuna gave me a lot of help as a senior in acting,” he also said. “For example, when I needed to talk something over with the director, she was the one that helped us find time to see each other. I was thankful for a lot of different things.”
Perhaps because of all the help he had received, Park Yoo Chun said about Han Ji Min, “She’s an actress that can bring on a synergy effect with any actor she acts with.”
He said, “I think I met a great person. I believe I was fortunate in Rooftop Prince that I was able to meet such great colleagues, and it was like I got a great present when I met such a great partner as Han Ji Min.”
The couple’s teamwork pulled Rooftop Prince up to the top for its last episode, helping the drama win the final three-way drama battle.
