CGV, the biggest multiplex corporation in Korea, has stated that JYJ’s documentary film was cancelled due to the problems with the contract and had nothing to do with pressure from external forces.

A representative of CGV stated on the 30th, “The only reason JYJ’s documentary film ‘The Day’ was cancelled was because there were problems with the contract.”

‘The Day’ is a documentary-style film that depicts the ordinary everyday lives and dreams of JYJ.

JYJ’s side stated through their official site that, “We write this notice to inform you that the screening of the daily life documentary ‘The Day’ has unfortunately been cancelled,” and “But CGV notified us through a telephone conversation that, “As this is a contract that was not approved by the final arbiter, we will nullify the contract.”"

They also stated, “We cannot accept the cancellation of this contract, which was signed after more than a month of discussions between both parties, due to an internal issue,” and “We will do our best to recover our rights by filing a civil complaint to the Fair Trade Commission and the Grievance Committee against CGV.”

(For the full translation of the notice, go here)

To this, CGV explained, “We decided not the screen ‘The Day’ because there were serious problems in the contract, including the fact that it wasn’t an exclusive run and that there wasn’t a single pre-screening of the documentary with the premiere fast approaching.” They also added, “If the cancellation was because of a certain entertainment agency, we wouldn’t have even considered screening the movie in the first place,” and “There are no external pressure issues in this case.”

TVXQ’s Yunho who starred in the MBC miniseries “Heading to the Ground” back in 2010 revealed that he would like to try acting again and also work alongside actor Jang Hyuk.

The February 1st episode of SBS’s ‘Entertainment Tonight’ covered an interview that was conducted with Yunho along with fellow celebrities Lee Min Jung, Sohee, Jang Hyuk, and Yoon Do Hyun.

The first question asked to Yunho was “Do you have a girlfriend?” to which he replied, “I really don’t”.

Then the interviewer continued to ask, “When do you feel like you wish you had a girlfriend the most?” and Yunho honestly answered, “When I’m sick. I get really sad when I’m sick so at those times I wish there was someone there to comfort me.”

The interviewer asked Yunho if he has any interest in acting again to which he replied, “I am very interested in acting.” So the interviewer continued to ask Yunho which actor / actress he would like to work with the most and he said, “I’m not saying this because I’m here, but I would really like to work with Jang Hyuk.” Actress Lee Min Jung, who was also present at the interview, looked slightly disappointed by Yunho’s answer of picking Jang Hyuk over herself.

Yunho tried to explain to Lee Min Jung that he would also like to work with her by saying, “I also want to act with Lee Min Jung and I am a fan of her.” To this Lee Min Jung jokingly replied, “What you said can’t be undone.”

JYJ member Kim Jaejoong apologized to his fans regarding JYJ’s documentary ‘The Day‘ being cancelled a few days before it’s premiere.

The singer wrote via his official Twitter page on the 31st, “Apologetically, I will lift my head and work hard.”

His tweet was in response to CGV announcing JYJ’s documentary ‘The Day’ being cancelled due to a breach of contract, which drew attention from fans all over the world.

JYJ’s representatives have previously stated that they would “file this injustice with a civil complaint to the Fair Trade Commission and the Grievance Committee” due to CGV insisting the contract had not been finalized. CGV stated their position saying, “We came across some problems while we were going through with the contract, but we never came to a joint decision that the movie would actually air.”

Netizens who read his tweet did not blame the singer and said, “Why are you sorry…“, “We are proud of JYJ!! Be strong“, and “No need for you to be sorry, oppa“.

In related news, JYJ’s agency CJeS is reportedly looking for alternative theater’s to air their documentary.
