Thanks to JYJ Junsu's caring heart, a family will be able to spend a warm Chuseok in a new home this year.

On September 7, Junsu worked with "ADRA (Adventist Development & Refile Agency) Korea," an organization that builds new homes for the needy, to sponsor the construction of a new home for a grandmother and grandson. The family had unfortunately lost their home in a fire last October and had been living out of their village hall through the help of neighbors.

After hearing of Junsu's "Building Homes with Love" program through "ADRA Korea," the grandmother applied with the hope of providing her grandson with proper shelter. Her application was accepted, and Junsu sponsored the construction of an 18-pyeong home, complete with a kitchen, bathroom, and living room. Over 70 volunteered to help make it possible.

Junsu has been donating since 2008 and has been sponsoring the construction of homes for the elderly, the disabled, and multi-cultural families in poverty.

"I would like to bow my head in gratitude towards everyone that worked hard to make this possible. I never knew what the meaning of charity effort was, but through this opportunity, I've learned the importance of lending a hand and helping out those in need," the family said through tears.

"We'd like to thank JYJ's Junsu for actively helping and supporting this cause," "ADRA also said.

“This has nothing to do with JYJ. We’ve never received any investments or documents for the album’s production costs. Everything has to do with the composer Mr. K.”

The agency of JYJ, an idol group whose members are from TVXQ, has released an official statement on the lawsuit against them and stated, “We are baffled and on a false charge.”

Through a phone conversation with Newsen, a representative of C-JeS Entertainment stated on the 5th, “We read the article that stated that there was a lawsuit filed against us, and we’re extremely baffled by it. In other words, this whole thing is ludicrous. The charges have nothing to do with us, and we’ve never received any investments or documents for the album’s production costs.


The representative added, “We are currently consulting the case with our lawyer but as no documents on the issue were passed between the two sides, we have not yet decided how to tackle the situation.”

According to the Seoul District Courts, the production company Asia Bridge Contents signed an album production contract with the popular composer Mr. K last February and paid him one billion Won in advance across four payments from March till April. But Asia Bridge Contents has filed the lawsuit against JYJ’s agency in order to retrieve their one billion Won in advance payment.

To this JYJ’s representative emphasized, “This has nothing to do with us but they’re demanding that we pay them back for the advance payment. This is ludicrous. We never received any advance payment from Asia Bridge Contents and this lawsuit should be against the composer Mr. K.”

The agency of popular idol group JYJ, who left TVXQ to form a new group, have been swept up in a lawsuit over one billion Won in album production costs.

According to the Seoul District Courts on the 5th, the production company Asia Bridge Contents has filed a lawsuit against JYJ’s agency C-JeS Entertainment for proper income division and a return of one billion Won in production costs.

Asia Bridge Contents stated, “Last February, we signed an album production contract with popular composer Mr. K who was in a music joint-production contract with C-JeS Entertainment at the time,” and “Following the contract, we provided Mr. K with one billion Won over a span of four payments from March till April in 2010.“

They continued to state, “JYJs album was met with an explosive response, even before it was released and through this, we believe that C-JeS Entertainment earned a great amount of profit,” and “But C-JeS Entertainment began interfering with Asia Bridge Contents’ participation in the business and did not repay the one billion Won we paid in advance.“

Asia Bridge Contents added, “We have the right to receive 18% of the profit JYJ received from album sales as well as the money we paid in advance,” and “We do not know the exact amount that C-JeS Entertainment earned in profits so for now, we’ve sued for the one billion Won we paid in advance.”

SM Entertainment’s CEO Kim Young Min highly praised the achievements TVXQ made as five members.

CEO Kim met with domestic reporters in Tokyo, Japan on the 3rd for ‘SM TOWN LIVE in TOKYO’ and while explaining the role and importance SM has in the Hallyu Wave, he said, “We are neither representatives who have been selected and recognized by the country nor representatives of K-POP. Though we do feel a sense of responsibility, I don’t feel that we should speak for K-POP or the nation as a whole,” and “But SM places importance on whether or not we can be number one in a cultural aspect. To SM, whether or not our stars can be number one or not is extremely important.

Talking about TVXQ, CEO Kim indirectly explained the role and importance of SM as he said, “TVXQ’s power is astronomical. What the five members did together was extraordinary. So regardless of the incident (of the three members leaving), the group was able to come to its current position. TVXQ’s power played the role of opening the road ahead for their juniors. What’s more important than being number one is whether or not we can create contents that have the most power in the market.”

Regarding SNS, which has helped the Hallyu Wave spread throughout the world, CEO Kim stated, “SNS has contributed a great deal to the Hallyu Wave. We’ve benefitted from it as well. But within it lies a sacrifice that stems from illegality. Though we’ve been able to expand our influence geographically, I believe that the mindset that SNS marketing is a powerful tool is wrong. Though it is useful, it could cause the downfall of the music industry. What could we do when IDs are shared on the Cloud service? SNS is a useful marketing tool, but it isn’t a necessity.

Talking about SM’s future plans, CEO Kim stated that SM plans follow the natural flow of the market as he said, “We will follow the market. We’ve set up a steady foundation in Japan, and China is a market I’d like to see us expand into. K-POP has been going on for ten yeas here, starting with BoA. I can’t speak for K-POP’s current location or identity. But according to Japan’s Tsutaya (Japan’s biggest album and publications rental shop), Hallyu-related products have recorded the highest sales so far, beating every other type of contents. Hallyu-related products are now being rented out more frequently than American movies.”

‘SM TOWN LIVE in TOKYO’, which was held at Tokyo Dome from the 2nd till the 4th, featured SM artistes such as Kangta, Kim Min Jong, BoA, TVXQ, Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, SHINee and f(x), bringing in 50,000 spectators each show for a total of 150,000.

Days before the release of their upcoming album "In Heaven", JYJ members revealed their official jacket pictures and released at midnight, their official title song "Get Out!" through sites like Melon, Mnet, Dosirak and BugsMusic. The song could be heard in live performances of the group but now it has been released the full studio version and can be purchased only on official music sites.

After the mignight release, the song went up to No. 1 on Dosirak, Melon, Naver, Daum, Cyworld, Nate and Olleh music within just 1 hour. If the song mantains its position, it could mean an all-kill for the trio.

Just like all the ten songs in the album, "Get Out!" was composed and written by Yoochun and Jaejoong, who at the same time helped with the arrangements and production of the song.

The concept used for this pictorial is about seeing the trio as angels from heaven. Wearing clothes with somber colors like black and white, combined with accesories like black feathers and chains, it portrays a heavenly image for the three members in this album. The individual pictures of each member is clearly a sexy pictorial of each one of them.

Korean Wave hits Malaysia with the airing of the TV series Protect the Boss.

The SBS TV series Protect the Boss (written by Kwon Ki Young, directed by Son Jung Hyun) seizes fans’ full attention with the recent development of complicated love affairs of the head of department Cha Ji Hun (played by Ji Sung) and the secretary No Eun Sul (played by Choi Gang Hee), and Seo Na Yoon (played by Wang Ji Hye) and Cha Moo Won (played by Youngwoong Jaejoong).

In addition, fans are interested at the announcement that the series will air in Malaysia, as well. The Sony Picture’s Cable Channel Setone* will air the series from September 12 at 9:00 p.m. every Mondays and Tuesdays.

Protect the Boss will begin to air in Malaysia even before the series finishes in Korea. It will be played with subtitles.

Malaysian fans took big interests when the recent issue of Indonesian newspaper Jawa pos carried a story about the scene where Ji Sung fights with Kim Jae Joong in the eighth episode of Protect the Boss, which aired on August 28.

The series is also popular in other countries such as in the USA, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and in Philippines.

A source from SBS says, “Fans of Protect the Boss is increasing continually in Malaysia and all across the world. We will do our best in filming the rest of the story, and hope that it will become a huge hit.”

SM Entertainment’s Kim Young Min CEO has emphasized that the future of the K-Pop market will need to have killer contents like TVXQ.

Kim Young Min, CEO of SM Entertainment, one of the leaders at the forefront of the global Hallyu wave, met with reporters in a restaurant in Japan’s Tokyo on September 3rd. He frankly spoke about the current status of K-Pop and commented that there is room for the continued growth of K-pop.

SM Entertainment has been in the industry for 10 years. SM Entertainment has become the leaders of Hallyu through the likes of artistes such as BoA and TVXQ, who have matured into one of Japan’s top groups, and SNSD, the driving force of the new Hallyu. These artistes have created a syndrome. K-pop has not only infiltrated countries in Asia like Japan, but has also resulted in the successful holding of a concert in Paris. Through this, it can be seen that the K-pop Hallyu fever has taken a central place around the whole world.

When asked about the relative importance of SM in the K-pop market, Kim Young Min CEO answered carefully, “This is where I will have to be careful with my words. In Korea, SM has not been credited as the representative of the nation, and SM is also not a representative which has received any official certificate of recognition.” He continued, “Approaching from the cultural perspective of SM, we are aiming to become number 1.”

Kim Young Min CEO further said, “However, it is true that the Hallyu contents market has grown to overwhelm other cultural aspects, and if so, SM has steadily contributed to that aspect.”

Kim CEO also commented, “Looking at the sales of the biggest DVD rental enterprise in Japan, the percentage of Hallyu contents is catching up with the sales of those contents which are considered the best of all time. Hallyu contents have overtaken American movies, and even now, the Hallyu market is rapidly expanding.”

Kim CEO emphasized, “Compared to the fact that music occupies the #1 spot amongst Hallyu contents, it is more important to focus on a consistent genre.”

Kim CEO then said, “Although it is also important for Hallyu contents to occupy the largest share of the market, even if the yearly sales are not #1, looking at the collective efforts of all the singers, if our album sales are #1, it would be great. When we look at celebrities, being in the first place is important. However, it must not be our goal to just have each individual singer’s albums sell well on its own.”

He continued, “TVXQ’s strength and influence is amazing. Although the 5 members of TVXQ have encountered a chain of events and also experienced pain, the fact that the market cannot do without the presence of TVXQ is amazing in itself.” He also urged, “In determining if Hallyu is able to become #1, we now realize that we need someone who can take on the role of opening up the future paths. From now on, we need powerful contents which we can call #1.”

Further, he revealed SM’s future targets, “The 5-membered TVXQ are the only artistes to have held an individual concert in Tokyo Dome. From now on, even if it’s not a performance under SM’s brand, if one day SM singers such as the 2-membered TVXQ or SNSD, BoA, Shinee etc can all stand on the Tokyo Dome stage for their individual concerts, it’ll be great, and that is SM’s goal.

SM Town Live World Tour has successfully completed performances, starting from Seoul and moving on to LA, Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris etc. Now, SM Town has held a grand performance in Japan’s biggest Tokyo Dome. Over 600,000 people applied for tickets for this concert, which was held for three days from September 2nd to September 4th, with eventually 150,000 people attending. This is the biggest ever concert held by Korean artistes in japan, demonstrating SM’s global brand power.

On October 23rd, SM will hold another concert at American pop’s most prestigious venue, the critically-acclaimed New York Madison Square Garden.
